Maria Cappuccia Vozzo, age 50, lifelong resident of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on December 9, 1974 and was the wife of John Vozzo and mother to Anthony Vozzo. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1992 and received her associates degree in Recreational Therapy from Norwalk Community College. The love story between Maria and John literally began in childhood, playing side by side in the sandbox as they grew up across the street from each other—a bond that only grew stronger with time. Maria's unrelenting love for her son, Anthony, who was the heart of her life, guided everything she did with warmth and devotion. She was deeply dedicated to the charitable work of St. Ann's Club, school volunteering with PTO and was always giving her time and energy to help others. Family and friends meant everything to Maria, and she brought people together in the most special ways. Everyone in Norwalk knew and cherished her annual luau, a time for laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories. It was more than a party; it was a celebration of life and togetherness, just like Maria herself. And now, whenever we see a
sunflower, we will think of her—radiant, strong, and forever in our hearts. Survivors, in addition to her husband and son, include: her parents, Nicandro and MaryAnn (Fruscino); her sister-in-law, Jessica LaRose and her son Nico; her niece Isabella Cappuccia; two uncles, Gennaro Cappuccia and Frank Fruscino; three aunts, Angie (Dominick) Turdo, Filippa Cardone and Alba Ben-Barka; many cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Tony and Domenick Cappuccia.
