She was born January 24, 1943 in Termini Imerese, Sicily, to the late Vincenzo Quattrocchi and Rosa Comella Quattrocchi.
Maria worked at C.R. Gibson for over 35 years, Norwalk High School for 9 years, followed by New Canaan Schools for 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, spoiling them with her home cooked meals, baking her delicious Italian holiday cookies, taking photos of her beautiful flower garden, and capturing family moments to fill her photo albums. Maria was the heart of the family who always put others before herself.
She was p redeceased by her siblings, Domenico, Francesca, Rosaria and Agostino.
Maria is survived by her loving husband of 55+ years, Antonino Battaglia, her three daughters; Josephine (Salvatore) Palumbo, Frances (Robert) Biasetti of Norwalk, and Rosemary (Michael) Pappa of Trumbull; six loving grandchildren, Vincent and Daniella Palumbo, Jacob and Zachary Biasetti, and Elliana and Julia Pappa, as well as her brother, Salvatore (Antonella) Quattrocchi, several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, November 12 , 2020 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hoyt-Cognetta / Raymond Funeral Home (5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk, CT) A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 13 , 2020 at St. Matthew Catholic Church (216 Scribner, Norwalk, CT). Entombment following at St. John's Mausoleum.
