Maria Isabel Gutierrez age 85 of West Redding, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2014 at home with her family by her side. She was born on May 26, 1928 in Costa Rica Central America. Maria was a retired employee of the C.R. Gibson Company in Norwalk. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1976. Survivors include two daughters Anna Pilato and her husband Michael of West Redding and Mary Pheiffer and her husband Adolf of Chicago; a son William Gutierrez and his wife Lelani of Jacksonville, Fla; two brothers, Julio & Francisco Bejanrano of Costa Rica; two sisters, Flor Montero & Ligia Bejanrano both of Fla; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews. Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday April 4, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 5, 2014 at 9:30 AM DIRECTLY at Sacred Heart Church, 1-19 Church Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk. In lieu of flower that donations be made to "San Ramon N Benefit Society Corp" donations will be used to purchase two oxygen tanks for the underprivileged people of San Ramon, Costa Rica.
