Lynela C. Gerangaya was a devoted catholic, loving wife, affectionate mother, caring sister and supportive friend. She peacefully joined our Creator on November 12, 2021 at the age of 50 surrounded by loved ones and dear friends in their home in Norwalk, Connecticut , after a courageous five-year battle against ovarian cancer. Lynela's family and friends vowed to continue her legacy by living a life filled with faith, love, joy, courage and generosity.
Lynela or Dang, as she was affectionately called by everyone, is survived by her loving husband Erle and beautiful daughter Lyanne. Dang will be tenderly remembered by her parents Noel and Lydia Cabantug; her brother Noel II and sister-in-law Arlene and their children Nathania Andrea and Nadineil Antoine; her brother Arvin and his children AJ and Cass Mae; her brother Peter and sister-in-law Glenda and their children Genine Lynelle and Simone Francis; her sister Shirlyn and brother-in-law Eduardo Moises Jr.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be missed by Mido, the family’s cherished shih tzu, who had immeasurably brightened her life to the very last day.
Dang was born on February 15, 1971 in Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines. She graduated from Capiz National High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Filamer Christian College. As a Registered Nurse, She served and cared for others tirelessly.
She was married to Erle for almost 20 years, and raised a smart, determined, and radiant daughter, Lyanne. Her family was the center of her world and made it her life’s work to be the wind beneath their wings. Cooking is her passion, kept an immaculate household and welcomed everyone to her home with immense grace and hospitality.
Dang exuded an awe-inspiring courage and strength and never failed to share herself selflessly, even at her most difficult time . Her pure heart, strong spirit, and unsurpassed willpower is forever etched in the lives of those who knew her. In the midst of all the adversity and the daunting medical procedures, she kept her faith in Christ even stronger. Dang was drawn closer to God each and every single day and accepted Jesus Christ as her only Mighty Savior.
