NORWALK, CONN Lucy Marie (Arcamone) Nooney, a sixty-nine year Norwalk resident, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, just a week after her 84th birthday. Born in Brooklyn 1926, Lucy was the daughter of the late Antonio and Amalia (Mattera) Arcamone. The family moved to Norwalk in 1941. Lucy worked at the former Machlett Labs in Stamford and then MBI in Norwalk for many years. She was a loving mother and homemaker for many years and the family was active in boating and spent many summers cruising on the sound. A love of cooking, reading and travel, Lucy enjoyed her retirement and has been to visit her sons who lived in the Carribean and now in Maui, Hawaii numerous times. Lucy enjoyed many things throughout her life family & friends first. Her kindness, loyalty, charity and Love for others were known by all that shared in her life and will be missed every day. She is survived by two sons, Robert J. and Thomas E. Nooney, both of Maui, Hawaii; one daughter, Gail "Abbey" Hamilton of Norwalk; a step-daughter, Sheila Ballard of Setauket, Long Island; a sister, Agnes and her husband, Harold Notzelmann; a brother, Ralph and his wife, Annie Arcamone of Rowayton; six grandchildren, Amber Mae Goold, John Michael Ballard, Daniel Sean Nooney, Cole Francis Hamilton, Cynthia Anelli and Jordan N. Ballard; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Giada Anelli; 12 nieces and nephews 15 great nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were a sister Rose A. Minnitti, brothers Rocco Arcamone and Clement Arcamone and her former husband Jack Nooney. Lucy's family will receive friends on Saturday, May 29, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from Noon until 3:00PM. Her funeral service will be held in the parlor at the conclusion of calling hours, 3:00PM. A graveside service will be announced in a later edition of the Norwalk Hour.
