Louis A. Lucci

November 12, 1923 — November 24, 2017

Louis Anthony Lucci (Iapalucci) bid farewell to this world surrounded by family in his home in Norwalk, Connecticut on Friday November 24, 2017 at the age of 94.

Left to honor his love and life are his wife, Lydia; children, Astrid, Oscar, Ernesto, and Sandra; 9 grandchildren, Brett, Kristel, Meagan, Breanna, Micah, Kirby, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Joy; and 4 great-grandchildren, Adrian (who he was blessed to meet), Luke, Jacob, and Eleanor. He was preceded in passing by  his parents, Katerina Santella Iapalucci and Salvatore Iapalucci; and siblings, Patrick, John, and Dominick.

Louis was born on November 12, 1923 in Jelsi, Province of Campobasso, Molise, Italy to parents Salvatore Iapalucci and Katerina Santella Iapalucci. His father emmigrated aboard the Palerma from Naples, Italy in 1913. Louis was registered to serve during WWII at 19, and graduated from Bridgeport University with a degree in accounting.

He married Lydia Lucci, who he referred to as his "amor" on March 21, 1975 in New Haven, who was an employee at his workplace at the time they met. Louis's family welcomed Lydia with open arms just as Louis welcomed her three children who Lydia brought over from El Salvador. He traveled to El Salvador on multiple occasions to visit her native country, and became a beloved part of her family.

Louis truly lived life to the fullest; he was an avid ballroom dancer, lover of Italian cuisine, and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his generosity, wisdom, and wit, with a commitment to health and fitness, and passion for knowledge. He filled his home with books from topics ranging from current political issues to health trends, to modern technology. Louis was a role model for life long learning. Louis grew to cherish his times as a member of Word of God Christian Church eagerly anticipating the Sunday services.

A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00pm on Wednesday December 6, 2017 (calling hours are from 4:00-8:00pm) at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory located at 5 East Wall Street Norwalk, CT 06851. Pastor Diane Jones will officiate the Christian memorial service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Louis's life.
