Lisa Caporrino Lee of Bridgeport, Connecticut passed away on September 28, 2023 at the age of 52. Lisa leaves an incredible legacy and left an indelible impression on those that called her daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend and teacher. Her incredible spirit, love of life, perseverance, infectious laugh and compassionate heart inspired all who had the chance to know her.
Lisa was born on May 13, 1971 to Pasquale and Gerd Caporrino in Frankfurt, Germany. The family moved to Brooklyn, New York and later to Norwalk, Connecticut. Lisa attended Norwalk Public Schools and graduated from Norwalk High School.
Lisa had a passion for education and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University and Sacred Heart University with a master’s in education. She went on to teach kindergarten at Brookside Elementary School in Norwalk for 28 years, where she mentored and inspired hundreds of students. The Brookside staff and her fellow teachers and colleagues became part of her extended family.
Lisa had an incredible network of friends and lived life to the fullest. She loved sunflowers, backyard barbeques, loud Italian dinners with extended family, Dave Mathews Band (especially the live shows), spending time with her niece and nephew, watching reality shows with her dogs Tigger, Maggie and Phoebe, the 100th Street block party, the card game Spit, krumkake baking parties, bad 80’s themed parties, Christmas Eve dinner in Brooklyn where Ho-Ho always paid a visit, annual getaways with college friends and extended family, and her Norwegian heritage (even the food).
Lisa is survived by her father Pasquale Caporrino, mother Gerd Caporrino, brother Jason Caporrino, sister-in-law Vanessa Caporrino, nephew Charles Caporrino, niece Katherine Caporrino, as well as cousins, aunts, uncles and many amazing friends that she counted as family.
Lisa’s passing leaves an enormous hole in the lives of those that loved her, but her legacy of generosity and strength will carry on in the many lives that she touched. God called home an angel. She will be missed.
