CLARKSVILLE, TN /NORWALK, CT Lewis Figueroa of Clarksville, Tennessee, former resident of Norwalk, Conn., passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville after being stricken ill. He was 38. Born in Norwalk, Conn. on July 17, 1970, Lewis was the son of Hector Figueroa, Sr. of Norwalk and Carmen Hernandez of Springfield, Mass. He was educated in the Norwalk Public Schools system and graduated from the former Nossi School of Art of Gallatin, TN, where he became an accomplished artist. His expertise in the field led to teaching positions in various schools. In 1992, he relocated to Clarksville. Lewis was a devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his son. He also enjoyed NASCAR and street racing. Along with his mother and father, he is survived by his beloved son, Tyler Lewis Figueroa of Miami, FL; four brothers, Hector and Xavier Figueroa, Orlando Torres and Artie Ortiz; one sister, Jackie Pettibone; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Lewis' family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 9:15AM from the parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Joseph R.C. Church, South Main Street, South Norwalk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
