April 18, 1942 — January 18, 2021

On Monday January 18 th , 2021 Leroy Joseph gained his wings peacefully at home.  Leroy was born on April 18, 1942 to the late Abraham Weldon, Sr. and Bessie Mae Joseph-Smith in Vance, South Carolina.  During his residence in South Carolina Leroy graduated from Holly Hill Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina.  Shortly after, Leroy moved to Norwalk, Connecticut where he enlisted to serve in the United States Marine Corp excelled and trained incoming recruits.

One of Leroy’s favorite songs was “A Living Testimony” and his life was a testament to that song.  Leroy was also a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church of Stratford, where he found a home as a member of the Men’s Choir and the Men’s Alliance.  Leroy’s legacy lives on through his family and the many lives that he positively affected.
