Lawrence Dennis LeClerc, age 88, of Norwalk, CT, passed away on Saturday, April 23 rd . Born in Berlin, NH, he was the son of the late Dennis and Yvonne (Thierren) LeClerc. He was raised in Corinth, NY, where he met the love of his life, the late Irene Doody LeClerc, to whom he was married for 56 years.
Lawrence graduated from Siena College in 1953 after serving in the U.S. Navy for 2 years. After graduation, he worked for International Paper where he was employed for 16 years. The family moved to Norwalk, CT in 1964. In 1970, he struck out on his own and founded Draperies, Inc. where he was acting as President and CEO until the time of his death.
He and Irene loved to travel and visited many places in Europe and the U.S. with many of their dear friends. His faith was very important to him and he was an active parishioner at St. Matthew’s Church in Norwalk for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing golf with Don a few times a week, working on his lawn, and not liking to dine alone always had a welcome table at La Taverna and most recently at Pasquale’s Restaurant. But most importantly of all to Larry, was the time that he spent with his treasured family.
Besides his wife and parents, Lawrence was predeceased by two brothers Norman and Bob, and one sister Mary LeClerc
He is survived by his children, Peggy (Ed Bonanno), Dennis (Nancy) and Nancy, his three cherished grandchildren, Lindsay, Will, and Alexandra along with many nieces and nephews.
Larry’s family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 27 th 2106 at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
His Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 28 th 2016 at 10:00 at St. Matthew’s Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
