Lavonne dePierne Lewis age 94, wife of the late James Franklin Lewis, passed away on Sunday July6, 2014 surrounded by her loving children. Born in Norwalk, the daughter of the late Frank & Estella Osler dePierne, she graduated Norwalk High School and Katherine Gibbs in New York. Mrs. Lewis had been employed at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in New York. She also worked as a receptionist for Dr. M.B. Jones. She loved to sew, knit and crochet but she enjoyed making handmade quilts later in life. She made her daughter Virginia's wedding dress. She is survived by a loving daughter Virginia Lewis Bossone and her husband John L. Bossone; a loving son David F. Lewis all of Norwalk; a sister Charlotte dePierne of Brookfield. At the request of the family, all services will be private. Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street has been entrusted with arrangements.
