Katherine "Kate" Randolph

February 23, 1951 - September 7, 2026

Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, Kate was 7 years old when her family moved to Weston, Connecticut, where she and her older brother Peter were enrolled in the town’s school. Kate graduated from Staples High School in 1970. She lived and worked in the Westport area for most of her life.

The family spent winter vacations skiing in New England. In summer Kate could most often be found at Old Mill Beach, her favorite local spot.

Kate loved music As long as it had soul, she loved it. Blues, jazz, rock ’n’ roll, classical, it all went to her heart.

She also had a deep affinity for plants and did much gardening throughout her life, an interest she shared with her mother.

Kate was predeceased by her brother Peter, mother Joan (Krayer) and father, Charles Clifford “Jim,” III. She is survived by her younger brother John (Elizabeth Davis) of Hartford, her nephew Bryan of Northern California, several cousins and innumerable friends from all facets of her life.

Kate will be dearly missed; there will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
