WILTON, CONN. Julia L. Dexheimer of Wilton passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 in the Wilton Meadows Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. She was 94. Born in Leonia, New Jersey on May 27, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Henry V. and Dorothy (Woodcock) Dexheimer. At a young age, she and her family moved to Norwalk, where she was raised and graduated from Norwalk High School. Thirty years later, she would settle in Wilton. At a young age, Julia worked for her family owned business, "The Sandwich Shoppe", located on Route 7 for many years. Later she went on to work for various companies in Greater Norwalk as a file clerk, including the former Dorsey International of South Norwalk. Julia was an avid reader and movie go'er and loved to eat out. When she was younger, she loved to travel to the summer home in Florida, where she would spend many winters. She is survived by three cousins, Thelma W. Penny of Croton Falls, NY, Lilia Hall of Chattanooga, TN and Frederic Woodcock of Charlottesville, VA. Julia's funeral will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11:00AM in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. The Rev. David L. James will officiate. A calling period will be held prior to the service, 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the family plot in Kensico Cemetery, Vahalla, New York.
