In Loving Memory of Juan “Pinso” Maldonado

March 2, 1945 – July 7, 2025

With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Juan “Pinso” Maldonado, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Juan entered eternal rest on July 7, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on March 2, 1945, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Juan lived a life marked by faith, strength, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Known affectionately as “Pinso,” he was a man of great wisdom, humble character, and gentle spirit. His sense of humor, storytelling, and warm smile left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Juan “Pinso” Maldonado devoted many years of his life in faithful service to Saint Joseph’s Church and Side by Side Charter School. As part of the maintenance staff, he was not only a hard worker, but also a beloved and deeply respected member of both communities. Juan took immense pride in his work, always going above and beyond to ensure that everything was cared for with excellence and dedication. His kindness, reliability, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was more than just a staff member—he was family to many, and his presence will be deeply missed.

He was the beloved husband of Maria S. Maldonado, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together they built a strong and beautiful family that was the center of Juan’s world.

He is survived by his children: Maria “Judy” Maldonado (Parrish Edmond) ,Samuel Maldonado (Lorena Maldonado), Juan Luis Maldonado, and Graviel Maldonado (Amaryllis Maldonado). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jose (Kelly), Carlos, Bianca, Noah , Hailey, Sebastian , Amaya , and Amery . His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Jayce, Jeremiah , Ezra , Alesia, and Mateo.

Juan’s greatest joys in life were his family, his faith, and the simple moments that brought everyone together. He fought like a champion until the very end and is now resting peacefully with the Lord, free from pain and embraced by eternal love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 13th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06851. All who knew and loved Juan are welcome to come honor his life and legacy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church and burial will follow at St. John' Cemetery.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing he is now in God’s presence. His love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
