Resident of Norwalk Joseph Dervil age 65, beloved husband to Jocelyne Fortune Dervil, passed away on April 8, 2015 in Norwalk Hospital. He was born in Haiti on February 18, 1950 and was a son to the late Antoine and Stephanie Millen Dervil. Joseph worked as an Auto Mechanic. Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons Jeffery Laporte, Joseph Dervil, Francis Dervil, Six daughters; Wendy Mendes, Joann Laporte-Bullock, Claudia Dervil-Stecher, Franceska Dervil, Vanessa Paul and Christine Dervil, two sisters Madeline Papillon, Rose Roche five brothers Gasner J. Dervil, Dominic Dervil, Andre Dervil, Marc Alexander Dervil, Jean Dervil and nine grandchildren Ian, Aaliyah, Aaliysa, Sophia, Aalijah, Aaron, Faith, Noelle and Delainey ; as well as several nieces and nephews. In his retirement Joe enjoyed working on cars and pestering his children and grandchildren. He was proud to teach his children the importance of taking care of your fellow man. He was very proud of his children's growth and parenthood. Friends are invited to greet the family Friday April 17, 2015 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk.
