October 10, 1955 — August 23, 2025

Seymour

John Daniel “O-Zee” O’Meara, 69, of Seymour, Connecticut, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. John was born on October 10th, 1955 in Stamford, Connecticut to his father Robert O’Meara and mother Joan O’Meara.

John was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed spreading peace and love into the world with those he met in life. John’s biggest passion was sports. From being starting quarterback wearing #6 at Rippowam High School, graduate of 1973, to playing softball with his friends for the Gypsy’s in Stamford, to being able to coach his own children in softball and baseball and getting them into the world of sports, there wasn’t a day that went by where he wasn’t thinking of what game he was going to watch next. He enjoyed listening to his favorite team, the Yankees, on the radio growing up and continued to do so throughout life. He was also a die-hard Cowboys, NY Rangers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Knicks fan and was fortunate to see all of those teams climb the mountain top and become champions of their sports.

John grew up in Stamford and lived there until 2000, before moving to Seymour to do the thing he was most proud of in his life: raise his own family with his wife Jennifer O’Meara. While in Seymour, John enjoyed having his own garden, taking the train to work, and napping with multiple pets, his favorites being Gypsie, Simba, and Paws.

John is survived by his three children, Amanda, Dallas, and Dylan O’Meara.

He is survived by his mother Joan (Burns) O’Meara, sister Denise D’Acunto and her husband Frank, brothers Brian O’Meara, Edward O’Meara and his significant other, Debbie, and Kevin O’Meara. His sister-in-law Kim O’Meara and Diana O’Meara. Mother-in-law Anne Parana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends, and colleagues met through his love of life and sports.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. O’Meara. His loving wife of 25 years, Jennifer Anne O’Meara. His brothers, James Robert O’Meara and Robert C. O’Meara. Brother-in-law, Michael Parana.
