John W. Morehouse

NORWALK, CONN. John W. Morehouse, 64, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, after being stricken ill. Born in Wilton, Conn. on April 29, 1944, he was the son of the late Livingston and Mary (Grabish) Morehouse. He attended local schools and served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. John worked for the New Canaan Winter Club for the past eighteen years. "John should be remembered as a dedicated employee of the club and more importantly as a member of our Winter Club family. He opened up the rink every morning for the past 15 years. He will be missed by all.", said Ken Gammill, Jr., President of the NCWC. Prior to NCWC, he worked as an independent landscaper throughout the area. He is survived by his teenage son, Justin W. Morehouse of Berkley, Mass.; a sister, Virginia and her husband, Michael Gilotti of New Fairfield, Conn.; several nieces and nephews; a sister in law, Trudy Morehouse of Danbury, Conn and his extended family at NCWC. Preceded in death was a brother, Sherman Morehouse. John's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 2:00PM - 6:00PM.
