NORWALK, CONN John C. Mills of Norwalk passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 29, 2010 in Norwalk Hospital. He was 62. He was the beloved husband of twenty-two years to Mary A. (Geddes) Mills. Born in Norwalk, CT on January 15, 1948 John was the son of the late Samuel Mills and Celia Reding Mills. He served in the United Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he worked for various companies in maintenance division, including the former James River Corp. of Norwalk for over fifteen years. Most recently, he was employed by the Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk. John was a private man whose passion was his occupation and family. He enjoyed spending his time with the grandchildren and always looked forward to the many family picnics. Along with his wife, John is survived by two step-sons, Dennis W. and his wife, Shana Pollack of Lake Marie, FL and Peter S. and his wife, Susy Pollack of Milford, Conn; a step-daughter, Susan A. Pollack of Derby, Conn; two brothers, Nick Mills of Norwalk and Joe "Georgie" Mills of Danbury, Conn; two sisters, Mary Lou Straton of Norwalk and Florence Schute of Norwich, Conn; four grandchildren, Anthony, Marissa, Sabrina and Oliver and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The Mills family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 05, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 5:00PM - 8:00PM. The funeral service and interment will be held privately. Kindly omit flowers. Instead, please make memorial contributions in John's name to The American Heart Association.
