NORWALK, CONN John R. "Bobby" McDonald of Norwalk, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, John F. McDonald and Marion L. McDonald as well as s grandson, Nicholas J. Testa. A loving husband to Margaret (Peggy) McDonald and father to Dawn Ruggiero & husband Dominic, John McDonald & wife Grace, Kelly King & husband Christopher, and Janine Testa & husband Michael. He was also a devoted grandfather to Michael & Matthew McDonald, Shea, Mason, Matthew, Kelli, Patrick and Sean King, and Gianna & Makenna Testa. He is also survived by a sister, Mary J. Kellaher and several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces & nephews. John (Bobby) proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and after military service, he started his own plumbing business in the Bronx, NY. Since semi-retirement, he has dedicated many years to Effective Plumbing where he was the Director of Operations. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. The McDonald family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 9:20AM from the parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. The Rev. Robert J. Crofut is to officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. If desired, contributions in John's memory may be made to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center, 23 Maple Street, Norwalk. Hoyt-Cognetta is honored to assist the McDonald family with the arrangements.
