John Gerard Horan (b. July 1, 1950) passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 in Norwalk, CT. He is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Fisher (and husband, Timothy) and Victoria Goliber (and husband, Joshua) his grandson, Wyatt Jameson Fisher, his former wife, Jeanette Horan, and his golden retriever, Cassie. John loved nothing more than spending a sunny afternoon at the dog park, surrounded by both two-legged and four-legged friends, playing music with friends in his home studio, and sipping a beer while engaged in battle at trivia nights at local pubs.
John was born and raised in Liverpool, England and spent many a summer enjoying the crisp sea air of the Isle of Man. He and Jeanette moved "temporarily" to the U.S. in 1981, and remained stateside for the rest of his life, raising his daughters and pups up and down the East Coast and eventually became a U.S. citizen in 2016.
John is fondly remembered for his great love and knowledge of music (especially classic rock), which he could talk about and listen to for hours! In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to pay their respects consider donating to the Save the Music Foundation (www.savethemusic.org), which provides music educational resources for children.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday August 18, 2024 from 3:00 till 6:00 pm at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. All other services will be private and at the convenience of John's family. Please visit www.Raymond.Care to leave an online condolence.
