NORWALK, CONN John DeCarie of Norwalk, CT passed away on January 31st 2011 at Norwalk Hospital. Born September 7, 1936 in Montreal Quebec, John was the son of Paul and Leontine DeCarie. He worked as a Union Lineman and traveled throughout the U.S., settled in Connecticut and retired after 20 years at the Third Taxing District. John leaves behind a loving family. His wife, Shirley Bifano-DeCarie and his children, Judi Decarie-Irons and husband Chris of Scottsdale, AZ, Richard Decarie and wife Sharon of Bethel, CT, Nicole Decarie-Ji and husband Sang of Duvall, WA, and Linda Vinci and husband Charlie of Norwalk, CT. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, one great-grandson and his sister Pierrette Decarie. He is predeceased by his siblings, Jacque Decarie, Paul Decarie, Michline Decarie and Monique Decarie of Quebec Canada. John was known as Dad or Pops to his family. He filled our lives with laughter and mischief. He will be remembered as a fun-loving character. He will be greatly missed. John's memorial service will be held on Friday, February 04, 2011 in St Peter Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave, Norwalk at 11:00AM. Guests may start arriving at 10:30AM. The Rev. Robert D. Beinke will officiate. Following the service, a reception will be held at the home of Linda and Charles Vinci. If desired, memorial contributions can be made directly to St Peter's.
