Joan R. Soldo

Joan R. Soldo (nee Lista), age 82, of Wilton, CT passed onto eternal life on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Joan was born on March 13, 1937 in Queens, New York to Dominick Lista and Anna Rosa Lista.  She grew up in Astoria, NY with her sister Rosemarie and brother Larry, both of whom predeceased her.   Joan was a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic grammar school in Astoria and Julia Richmond High School in Manhattan. She had a long career as a business officer at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens.

Joan was the devoted wife of James, who she married in 1957.  They raised three children together in Astoria, NY and Elmont, NY until his death in 2001.

Joan will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Donna and Gina, her daughter-in-law Judy, and her sons-in-law Jim and Terry.  (Or James and Terence) She was preceded in death by her son James in 2015.  Joan also leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren, Diana (John), Laura, James, Alexa, Robert, Nicholas, Christina, and Terry, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joan will always be remembered as a woman of strong faith.  Her family was the center of her life, and memories of wonderful times spent together will be cherished forever.

Calling hours for Joan will be at Hoyt-Cognetta/Lesko Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk, CT, on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima R.C.
