NORWALK, CONN Jesus "Arcesio" Hernandez of Norwalk passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in Norwalk Hospital after being stricken ill. He had recently celebrated his 100th birthday. His beloved wife Ana Adelfa (Palacio) Hernandez of seventy years, passed away in 2007. Born in Medellin, Colombia on August 07, 1909, Arcesio was the son of the late Jose and Petronila (Tabarez) Hernandez and graduated high school. He was an established mason and carpenter and worked for various companies throughout Colombia. In 1978, he emigrated to Norwalk where he retired and spent his time with family and friends. He is survived by seven sons, six daughters, twenty-four grandchildren and Twenty-four great-grandchildren. Arcesio's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 13, 2009, in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. His funeral service will be held in the parlor at the conclusion of calling hours, 7:00PM. Fr. Greg J. Markey of St. Mary's R.C. Church of Norwalk will officiate. A private interment in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk will be held at the convenience of the family.
