Jennie Lu Jeanne Buschbaum Jennie Lu Jeanne (Tallmadge) Buschbaum passed away at the age of 95 on January 21, 2013. Known as "Jeanne" to her family and friends, Jeanne was the wife of the late Joseph C. Buschbaum Jr., daughter of George and Mildred Tallmadge and stepdaughter of Thomas McCarthy. Jeanne was born in South Norwalk on December 14, 1917. She attended Benjamin Franklin Junior High School, Norwalk High School and graduated in 1936 from Bassick High School in Bridgeport. After graduation Jeanne was employed as secretary for the National Flour Company in Bridgeport and for The American Chiclet Company serving as "Miss Chiclet." Jeanne loved to dance, owning & teaching dance at the "Broadway School of Dance" in Bridgeport. During this time she also was a featured dancer at The Theatre In the Woods in Silvermine, member of the Mildred Aller Dancers and performed numerous times at Radio City Music Hall in Rockefeller Center. Jeanne also served as a member of the Norwalk Housing Authority, treasurer for Concerned Parents & member of the Norwalk Taxpayers League. Jeanne leaves us to join her brothers and sister-in-law, Carlton Tallmadge and Russell and Rose Tallmadge, her mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Laura Buschbaum Sr., brothers and sisters-in-law, Chick and Ethel Buschbaum, George and Eleanor Buschbaum, Larry and Bertha Buschbaum, Louie and Irene Buschbaum, John and Jeanne Buschbaum, Laura and Charles Mages, Helen and Tommy Glynn and Mary and Gordon Tingets. Jeanne is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jolinda and Louis Ruggiero and Jean and John Cross Sr., her five grandchildren, Randi (Michael) Goulet, Joseph (Danielle) Ruggiero, John (Angela) Cross Jr., Jeremy (Erika) Cross and Jared Cross, her ten great grandchildren, Gabriella, Sarafina and MacGregor Goulet, Erin and Caley Ruggiero, Alison, Olivia and Alexa Cross & Jack & Ava Cross. A memorial service will be held on January 31, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street Norwalk. Prayer service and remembrance will take place at 6:15 pm. Interment will be at a later date.
