Jean F. Kleis

Jean F. Kleis, age 96, passed away on November 7, 2024.  She was born in Norwalk, CT to the late Ruel O. and Henrietta Weed on November 16, 1927.  Jean was a 1945 graduate of Norwalk High School and served on numerous NHS reunion committees.  She was an active member of St Peter’s Lutheran Church.  Until her retirement, she was employed with the Ware Chemical Company, and its successive corporate entities, in a variety of administrative management positions.
Jean is survived by her son Kurt and daughter-in-law Mary of Danbury; her granddaughters Katy and Kristin; her nieces, Kim Barrows, Chelle Miklos and Allison Chatfield.  She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob (“Jack”) Kleis and her sister, Judith (Weed) Chatfield.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from  10:00 am to 11:00 am in the front narthex of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Avenue, Norwalk.  A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 am.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  The Hoyt- Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to “Spike’s K9 Fund”.
