Janet M. Luddy, 86, a long- time resident of Norwalk passed away on July 17, 2013 at Norwalk Hospital after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Gerald F. Luddy. Janet was born on June 22, 1927 in Watertown, Ct. She was the youngest of four children born to Lucius W Snyder and Pearl M. Brower. Janet was predeceased by her three brothers. Janet graduated Watertown High School in 1945 and went on to get her associates degree from Vermont Junior College in 1947. Janet was a homemaker for much of her life, working in later years after her four children were grown, in the cafeteria at Cranbury Elementary School. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, needlework and knitting Christmas stockings for her family. Janet leaves a son, Bruce Luddy and his wife Jean of Vernon, and three daughters, Karen Arntsen and her husband David of Cheshire, Beth Luddy of Newtown, and Pamela Luddy of Bethel. She also leaves seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:00 am in the chapel on the grounds of Evergreen Cemetery, 183 North Street, Watertown, CT.
