James Joseph Sundberg passed away at his home on his 64th birthday, March 19, 2012 with his beloved wife, Diane Carlson, at his side, following an inspiring and courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Elizabeth, N.J. to Carl W. and Ruth Sundberg, he grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Chatham Township High School. He pursued further studies in design and engineering and moved to Connecticut in the late 70's. He worked for a variety of employers, including Waring, Kerosun, and Dansk, before starting his own company, J. Sundberg Design. Passionate about the outdoors, he pursued sailing, cross-country skiing, and especially fly-fishing. He also enjoyed music and gardening. He will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends as a talented, caring, funny and courageous man. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Diane, his loving mother Ruth Anne, sisters Jeanne and Anne Marie, brothers Carl and Frank, sister-in-law Kristin, and nephews Erik and Axel. Jim was predeceased by his father, Carl W. Sundberg. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Matthews Church in Norwalk, on Saturday, March 31 at 11:00 am.
