James T. Ferrara

March 15, 1960 — January 31, 2021

James Thomas Ferrara Sr., age 60, of Norwalk, CT, passed away unexpectedly January 31st, 2021. Born March 15, 1960 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Edna and Alfred Ferrara.

James is survived by four children, Anthony, Michelle, James Jr., and Michael, two daughters-in-law, Victoria and Samantha, and four grandchildren, Anthony Jr., David, Phoebe and Emily. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Karen Ferrara.

James grew up in Norwalk and worked at Hobbs Equipment until opening his own welding business, Ferrara Industries with his uncle who predeceased him, Joseph Ferrara. Later in life, he worked alongside his son, Anthony, at Tony’s Welding and Repair while also working security at Manresa Island where he loved birdwatching and fishing. James loved music and playing guitar with his lifelong, best friend Joseph Beres. James was an avid fisherman. He also loved horseshoes, bowling and most of all spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed reading, rooting for his two favorite teams the Giants and the Mets, and anything to do with racing.

Friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday February 6, 2021 from Noon till 3:00 pm at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave. Norwalk. The Funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Robert Beinke officiating. The Raymond Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk has been entrusted with arrangements.
