James Joseph Carbone, Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, James J. Carbone, Jr. who passed away surrounded by family on November 18. Jay, as he was fondly known by family and friends, was 73 years old. A Norwalk native, Jay was born on August 9, 1950. He is predeceased by our parents, James, Sr. & Camille Carbone and our brother Charles. Jay is survived by his sisters: Mary Mazerolle, Patricia Carbone, and Nancy Rowe; nephew Brian Rowe, nieces Nadine Purdy, Corrinne Purdy, Kristin Dodge, Adrienne Rowe and great niece Pearl Howie – Aunt Louise Veno, Uncle Gerry & Aunt Roseanne Grimaldi and several cousins.

Jay is a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge, he returned to Norwalk where he worked as a landscaper, carpenter, and all-around handyman loved by many of his long-time customers who viewed him as part of their extended family. Whenever you needed anything, he was there to help. He was our family historian, go-to-guy, horticulturist and avid mushroom forager.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ICU Cardiac Thoracic staff at Yale New Haven Hospital with gratitude and special thanks for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Jay and our family.
