James Richard Barnes age 87, beloved husband of 52 years to Charlotte A. Barnes of Norwalk, died August 31, 2013 in Aurora Senior Living. He was born on November 5, 1925 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Frank and Marie Barnes. James served in the United States Army for 20 years and was a proud veteran of both WW II and Korean War. After the Army he worked at Connecticut Light & Power for 15 years, was a life member as well as Board Member & Permittee of the Norwalk Quartette Club and Sons of Italy. Jim also served on the board of Directors for the Salvation Army. Survivors in addition to his wife include his brother, David of Modesto, CA. two sisters-in-law Elfrida Fritz of Norwalk and Anita Schoch of Shelton; he was blessed with 4 nieces and 1 nephew and 16 great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Marge Bulmer and two brothers, Raymond & Thomas. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street.
