NORWALK, CONN Italia B. Maxis of Norwalk passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital, following her battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was 68. Italia was born on August 17, 1942 in Cays, Haiti and came to America in 1969. As a wife and mother of 4 children, she worked hard to support her family by working as a nurse's aide for over 35 years. Italia enjoyed traveling, walking, cooking, watching movies, spending time with family and friends. She was a beautiful, loving woman who had an infectious smile that would light up a room. She was a gentle kind person who opened her heart to everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and anyone who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Armand Maxis; two daughters, Nicole Maxis-Pierre and Laurie Maxis, both of Norwalk; two sons, Jeffries Maxis and Patrick Maxis, both of Norwalk; two sisters, Ifaita Graham of Brooklyn, NY and Therese Beaujour of Norwalk; two brothers, Gerard Beaujour of Bridgeport and Bonel Beaujour of Norwalk; and several nieces and nephews. Italia's family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 03, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 04, 2010 at 9:15AM from the parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Joseph R.C. Church, S. Main Street, where a Catholic Mass Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
