NORWALK, CONN Irene M. LeClerc of Norwalk died on March 01, 2010 in Norwalk Hospital, surrounded by her family after an illness. She passed away on her 90th birthday. Born in Corinth, NY on March 01, 1920, Irene was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Driscoll) Doody and graduated from Corinth Central School in 1939. She continued her education at the former Eastman Business College, NY. Irene retired in 1998 as Vice President of Draperies Inc. of Norwalk after nearly thirty years of serving Norwalk and its surrounded communities. She enjoyed traveling, swimming but if asked her family was what she loved the most. Irene was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Matthew R.C. Church, Norwalk. She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Lawrence D. LeClerc; her son, Dennis L. and his wife, Nancy S. LeClerc of Fairfield, Conn; her two daughters, Peggy A. and her husband, Edward Bonnano of Avon By The Sea, NJ and Nancy M. LeClerc of Fairfield, Conn; her three grandchildren, Lindsay, Will and Alexandra; her brother, John Doody of Gainsville, FL; many nieces and nephews. Irene's family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 03, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, March 04, 2010 at 9:30AM from the parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Matthew R.C. Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. The Rev. Tomi Thomas will officiate. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
