It is with the heaviest of hearts that the Lord, in all of his wisdom, sought to take our beloved Igor Henrique de Oliveira Romao home. We will always wonder why he needed yet another angel and at such a tender young age. Igor passed away at his home in Norwalk in the early hours of Sunday, March 16th, 2025 with his partner, James J. Romanella, Jr. by his side.
Igor was born on February 1st, in the town of Divinopolis, Minas Gerais State, Brazil to mother Patricia Mae de Oliveira and father Roberto Henrique Romao who both survive him and reside in Divinopolis. He is also survived by a maternal grandmother and great-grandmother along with a brother, Victor and a sister Bruna Lorrayne along with several nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends in Brazil, England and here in CT.
He graduated with high honors from the University of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil in May 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and was employed as a Junior Engineer in the Department of Public Works for the City of Norwalk in which he was a valued employee and excelled during his tenure there.
Igor was that rare individual that was comfortable at a local diner or traveling in first class. He loved traveling around the world; his first international trip was to Mexico where he and James were visiting for over two months! In his short life, Igor was able to travel to over 20 countries, countless cities and destinations and four continents including the Arctic Circle.
After planning for over one year’s time, he was able to live out his lifelong dream of coming to the United States where he was extremely happy and loved by all that knew him; he will be sadly missed forever. Please remember Igor in your prayers and thoughts along with all those that loved him.
Friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday March 25th from 4:00 till 8:00 pm at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. Interment will take place in Brazil at a later date. Please visit www.Raymond.Care to leave an online condolence for the family.
