Ian Heuston Fuller passed away peacefully just shy of his 85 th birthday on Saturday, April 1 6 , 2023, at his Maplewood Assisted Living residence in Darien, CT. Ian was born to Herbert Fuller and Hazel Bacon in Montreal, Quebec. Ian attended McGill University and completed a degree in Chemical Engineering. He spent his entire career with International Paper Company beginning in a pulp mill in Hawkesbury Ontario and ending in sales in their New York City location. His job took him around the world, including many travels to Japan which he really enjoyed. Ian was also an avid bridge player, often times playing during his commute to the city on Metro North. His love of the game led him to becoming a Life Master . Ian also enjoyed sailing on his sunfish on Long Island sound during the summer months. In his later years, he enjoyed being active running and swimming at the YMCA.
Married to Lillian Jean (nee Foltin) in 1963, he was a father to Jennifer (McAneny) of North Reading, Massachusetts, David of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Linda (Wallace) of Newtown, CT. He was preceded in death by his sister Hazeljean (Noel) and brother Phillip. Ian enjoyed watching his 7 grandsons grow, especially baby Ian. We wish to thank the staff at Maplewood Assisted Living for the care they provided to Ian in his last year. Private family services will be held at a later date
