Hernan Jose Osorio Perez, 92, of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026 at Wilton Meadows, Wilton, CT.
Born on April 6, 1933 in Belmira, Antioquia, Colombia, he was the son of the late Adriano Osorio and Sara Perez. He was also predeceased by his brothers Marco Fidel Osorio and Leon de Jesus Osorio Perez.
Hernan worked as a shoemaker in Medellin, Colombia before migrating to the United States in the mid 80s with his family. He worked many years in the restaurant industry before retiring.
Hernan was a kind and deeply faithful and religious man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known for always being sharply dressed. He was rarely seen without one of his fedoras. He also had a great sense of humor.
Hernan is survived by his ex wife, Maria Rodriguez Gutierrez and four daughters, Luz, Blanca, Fanny, and Gladys Osorio of Norwalk, Conn. His son, Ivan Osorio (Diane) of Ankeny, Iowa. His sisters, Maria Emma Osorio Perez and Amparo de Jesus Osorio Perez and countless nieces and nephews. Six grandchildren, who he adored, Juli Greco (Angelo Greco) of Honey Brook, Penn. Eloisa Melendez (Justin Papp) of Washington, DC, David and Alejandro Velasquez of Norwalk, Conn. and Noah (Kylie) and Ethan Osorio of Ankeny, Iowa. And two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Lucas Greco.
A mass in honor of Hernan will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church at 1pm, followed by a reception to greet family and friends.
