NORWALK, CONN Hazel Sloan Errico, our beloved mother, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2012 at the Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk, just after celebrating her 90th birthday. Hazel was born on January 11, 1922 to Guy and Reba (Hotchkiss) Sloan in Naugatuck, CT. She married Anthony C. Errico in 1946 and was a devoted and cherished wife until his death in 1979. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Sharon Shmanda of Norwalk and her husband, John; brother in law, Michael Errico and his wife, Teddy of Sparta, NJ and Joseph Errico of Norwalk. She is also survived by her nephews Robert Duplessis of New Fairfield, CT, Mark Errico of Norwalk and nieces Kathleen Granata of New Milford and Laura Coppola of Sparta, NJ. Hazel was an active member of AARP Chapter 2011 and served as secretary to the organization for many years. She was also a member of St. Matthew's Parish and the New Horizons. She loved to bake, knit and lunch with the ladies. Her smile and loving ways will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Interment will be held privately.
