STAMFORD, CONN Harold E. Platt, Jr. of Stamford, longtime resident of Norwalk, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 after being stricken ill. He was 56. Born in Norwalk on October 23, 1952, Harold was the son of the late Harold E. and Margaret Ann (Murphy) Platt and graduated from Brien McMahon High School. He served in the US Navy as a mechanic for a short time, before he was honorably discharged. Upon his return home to Norwalk, Harold work at Terminix Pest Control in Norwalk. There he received numerous awards for his outstanding achievements as branch manager and sales. Harold was a kind hearted man who helped the less fortunate. His passion and love was to surround himself amongst his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was an artist who enjoyed drawing and creating many crafts. With his many personal struggles he faced in life, he is now at peace with God - He will be missed by all. He is survived by a son, Christopher J. and his wife, Suzanne J. Platt of Norwalk; a daughter, Tammy M. Platt and her husband, Thomas Q. Willoughby of Norwalk; five brothers, Daniel T. Sr. and his wife, Rita Ann Platt, Doug, Gary, Chris Allen and Jimmy Platt; four grandchildren, Brianna, Chris, Ethan and Jenaya; three aunts, Mary B. DePietro, Sister Anne Dean and Jean Mills; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dr. Tomi Thomas on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00AM in St. Matthew R.C. Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray numerous medical expenses. The family has selected Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, to assist them in the arrangements.
