WILTON, CONN Gladys Campbell Hyatt, 73, of Wilton, passed away on January 18, 2012 in the Connecticut Hospice of Branford. Born in Ayshire Scotland, Gladys was the daughter of the late Thomas Campbell Latta and Gladys Agnes Johnstone. After completing her education, Gladys worked for the ICI in Ayshire. In 1959 she traveled to Darien, Conn, where she worked as a governess while attending Merrill Business School in Stamford. She went on to work for the law firms of Cummings & Lockwood and Plotnick & Plotnick. In 1967, Gladys married Charles K. Hyatt and resided in Wilton for the remainder of her life. Her last employment was with News 12 Connecticut. However, she always felt her biggest achievement was her family. Gladys is survived by sons, Charles K. Hyatt Jr. of Redding and Harold C. Hyatt of Ridgefield; and 5 grandchildren, Charles K. Hyatt Jr., Jake Hyatt, Harold E. Hyatt, Meghan and Victoria Hyatt. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 23, 2012 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 5:00PM - 7:00PM. Gladys' funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Wilton Presbyterian Church, 48 New Canaan Road, Wilton at 10:00AM. The Reverend Stewart Maccoll is to officiate. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Wilton. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice of Branford, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
