Giovanni Torcasio

Giovanni “John” Torcasio age 59, of Norwalk, passed away on August 21, 2018 in Norwalk Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Torcasio was born in Nicastro, Lamezia Terme, Italy on June 5, 1959 and was a son to the late Vincenzo and Serafina Torcasio.  Giovanni worked in food services for 43 years, 14 of which he was the co-owner of Serafina’s Deli in Norwalk.
He is survived by two brothers, Antonio (Laura) and Salvatore; four sisters, Palma Pagliuso (Felice), Maria Ambrosio (Giuseppe), Angelina DiMeglio (Luigi), & Ida Ignatiadis (Nick) and Sisters-in-law Antonia Torcasio; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Giovanni was predeceased by his brother, Francesco Torcasio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 24, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Matthew’s Church, 216 Scribner Ave. Norwalk. Entombment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk. The Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk has been entrusted with arrangements. There will be no calling hours.
