Giacomo Brancato

Giacomo Brancato, age 89, of  Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, June 3, 2022 in Bridgeport Hospital. Giacomo was born in Castiglione Di Sicilia, Sicily, Italy, on May 14, 1933, beloved son of the late Giuseppe and Concetta (Raiti) Brancato. He was the devoted and loving husband to Gisella Brancato, for 64 years. Giacomo grew up in Sicily where he served for the Italian military and later immigrated to the United States where he began as a mechanic in Norwalk and Greenwich, CT. He eventually became the proud owner of his own car dealership, GB Auto Sales of Norwalk, for over 33 years. After retirement, Giacomo enjoyed many moments with family and friends especially his grandson’s sporting events. He was their biggest fan. He loved waking up early, having his morning coffee and always found something to do outside, like his favorite past time, gardening. Giacomo was survived by his wife, Gisella and their 4 loving children: Doriana Brancato (Steve), Patricia Tradito (Emanule), Joseph Brancato (Marium), Mario Brancato (Mirella). Along with his 8 grandchildren, Giacomo, Antonio, Mariella, Maria, Giovanni, Alexis, Ellana and Leah. Friends may visit with the Brancato family on Tuesday, June 7 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am in St. Jerome’s Church 23 Half Mile Rd, Norwalk, CT. All other services will be private.
