NORWALK, CONN Gerarda Socci of Norwalk passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Norwalk Hospital, she was 71. Born on February 28, 1938 in Settefrati, Provincia di Frosinone, Italia, the daughter of the late Sabatino and Michelina (Fanone) Palladino. Gerarda grew up in Italy, marring Armando Socci on August 10, 1958, and was married to her beloved husband fifty-one years. In March of 1966, the family migrated to New Canaan before settling in Norwalk in 1982. Gerarda was a homemaker, dedicated wife, mother, nonna, and sister who will be missed by all that loved her. Gerarda's enjoyments included cooking and taking care of her family and spending time with her grandson. Along with her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Micheline Socci-Sheikh of Norwalk and Maria T. Socci of Kent, CT; her grandson, Daniel A. Sheikh of Norwalk; her brother, Domenico Palladino of France; her sister, Giusepa (Sheppa) Terenzio of England and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death were three siblings.
