Georgios Koroxenos, passed away on June 8, 2021, at the age of 72. He was born on September 5, 1948, in Agios Loukas, Pellas, Greece married his wife, Maria Georgiades Koroxenou on March 3, 1968. Upon their marriage, they moved to Munich, Germany and thereafter immigrated to the United States and built their life in Norwalk, CT. Georgios enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren; especially spoiling them with trips to the beach, lots of ice cream, and being their biggest supporter. The most selfless man that would put his family above all else. He enjoyed tapping into his Greek roots by gardening in his backyard, playing cards with his buddies at the kafenieo. He was also very fond of watching Animal Planet, karate movies, as well as taking care of his pigeons, rabbits and vacationing to Greece.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Georgiades Koroxenou and two children, Sophia Koroxenou Valdovinos & husband Francisco Valdovinos and Voula Koroxenou Hidalgo and husband Juan Hidalgo. As well as their son-in-law Stathis Pissanidis and Georgios’ grandchildren: Pelagia Pissanidis, Nikolaos Pissanidis and fiancé Kara Ostaszewski, Georgios Pissanidis, Maria Pissanidis, Chelsea Hidalgo and Cecilia Hidalgo. In addition, he was survived by his siblings: Vaggela Paraskeuaidis and Parthena Seferidis, her husband George Seferidis and her son Nick Seferidis. He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will greatly be missed, will forever live in our memories and in our hearts.
Friends are invited to Greet the family on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, West Rocks Road, Norwalk. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am and burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
