George Robert Jones

NORWALK, CONN George Robert Jones, a lifelong member of Norwalk, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at home from a brief illness. He was 74. Born in Norwalk on January 2, 1935, George was the son of late George A. Jones and Marion (Malony) KinKade. He worked for the former Hat Corp. of Norwalk for many years until their closure and continued working until his retirement. George had a love of animals and was an avid New York Yankee's fan. He was thrilled to see yet another victory as they recently became World Series champions. George also enjoyed the sports of basketball and football. He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Joyce (Anderson) Jones; a daughter Cynthia Ann Seligam of Lakeland FL; six grandchildren; one great grandson; two brothers, Arthur James Jones of Indiana and Stanley Chase Jones of Georgia; a sister Nancy Ellen Jacob of Norwalk and several nieces and nephews. George's graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 20, 2009 in St. Mary Cemetery, Norwalk. There are no calling hours. The Rev. Thomas Berberich will officiate.
