Garnell Paulk II, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 at the age of 66. Garnell was born on September 20, 1958, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to the late Hazel Sead and Leroy Paulk. He was the sixth of seven children and the only son, cherished by his six sisters, including the late Deborah Paulk, Gail Paulk, Maryann Floyd, and Felicia Paulk, and his surviving sisters, Gracie Goodwin and Shirley Paulk.
A proud graduate of Norwalk High School, Garnell went on to attend Miami Dade College, graduating in 1977. In 1985, he enlisted in the United States Military and was later stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, where he met and married his former wife, Natalie Reeves. Together, they raised five children:

Garnell was a man of great character, known for his sense of humor and quick wit. His laugh was contagious, and his wise and sometimes slick quotes about life were unforgettable. Whether imparting advice or just cracking a joke, Garnell had a way of making everyone around him feel at ease and loved. He was a man of his word-honest, reliable, and ready to help anyone in need, often offering the shirt off his back without hesitation.
He had a deep love for music, particularly jimi Hendrix and Mobb Deep, and found joy in the rhythms and lyrics that spoke to his soul.
Garnell was not only a dedicated father but also a "neighborhood father" to many. He took great pride in being a mentor and role model to the children in his community, always offering guidance, protection, and love. The young people in his life looked up to him with admiration, and he became a fixture in their lives, offering wisdom, laughter, and support.
A cherished cousin, uncle, and mentor, Garnell's love for his family and friends was boundless. His sisters often spoke of him with great affection and pride, and they remained his fierce protectors throughout his life. He was a loyal brother and a steadfast friend, known for his unwavering commitment to those he loved. His warmth, generosity, and infectious humor will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Garnell's legacy is not only in the memories he leaves behind but in the lives he touched. His presence will be sorely missed, but his love, laughter, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
