NORWALK, CONN Gaetano DelGiudice, a forty-seven year resident of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 02, 2011 with his family by his side. He was 84. Born on October 02, 1926 in Filandari, Calabria, Italy on October 2, 1926, Gaetano was the son of the late Giuseppe DelGiudice and Teresa Tavella-DelGiudice. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-seven years, Agnese Cappuccia-DelGiudice and his two children: daughter Teresa DelGiudice-Hall and husband Jim Hall, and a son Joseph DelGiudice. He was the loving and playful grandfather "Nonno" to four beautiful grandchildren, Julia Hall, Jenna Hall, Jacie Hall and Joseph DelGiudice, Jr. Gaetano was a well known Barber, Owner of the Monroe St. Barber Shop for thirty-seven years. Calling his customers his friends, he was loved by all and was affectionately known as the "Mayor of South Norwalk". Gaetano was a devoted, hard working, peaceful man who loved spending time with his family. His children adored him and feel fortunate to have been blessed with such a great man as their father. They are comforted in knowing Heaven now has their perfect Angel. Gaetano's family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 9:15AM from the parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Jerome R.C. Church, 23 Half Mile Road, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
