Frederick Arnold Lovejoy Formerly of Norwalk Frederick Arnold Lovejoy passed away on July 6, 2014, at his summer residence in Laval, Quebec, Canada. Fred was born on March 10, 1928, and resided in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was the son of Attorney Frederick F. Lovejoy, Jr. and Hazel Arnold Lovejoy. He was the grandson of Captain Frederick F. Lovejoy, Sr. and Minnie Blydenburg Lovejoy. Fred graduated from Norwalk High School in 1946, Wesleyan University in 1950 and the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, in 1955. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army, 7th Army Division, in West Germany. Prior to and for a year after his military service he worked for his grandfather's oyster company in East Norwalk, Connecticut. After graduating from the Wharton Business School, he became a college professor, writing two books: "Divestment for Profit" and "Mergers and Acquisitions." After he stopped teaching, he ran his own consulting business. Following his retirement, he enjoyed playing his organ and electronic keyboards, traveling, and spending summers in Canada. He is survived by his children, Frederick Arthur Lovejoy and his wife Suzanne Eggleston Lovejoy and Wendy Anne Lovejoy and her husband Robert Benjamin Parks and his grandchildren Hannah Carr Lovejoy, Michael Benjamin Parks, and Robert Christopher Parks. He is predeceased by his sister, Martha Lovejoy Hanford, and his brother, Jonathan Lovejoy. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Frederick can be made to the St. Labre Indian School, 1000 Tongue River Road, Ashland, Montana 59003. His funeral service will be private.
