Frank A Spezzano, Jr.

BRIDGEPORT, CONN Frank A. Spezzano, Jr. of Bridgeport, formerly of Norwalk passed away on Thursday, January 07, 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital of Bridgeport, after being stricken ill. He was 49. Born in Stamford, Conn. on July 28, 1960, Frank was the son of the late Frank A. Sr. and Jane A. (Duffy) Spezzano. He was a 1979 graduate of Stamford High School and was a member of its wrestling team. As a sport enthusiast, he was also involved in youth baseball. Frank worked for Heavens Gardens of Norwalk for eight years as a landscaper. He worked at the Chatham Manor of Norwalk, as an assistant cook for several years. He was a wonderful and loving man who was the first to help anyone in need. Frank was a jack of all trades and was always able to solve any issue that anyone had. He also enjoyed traveling in his younger years to Puerto Rico and most recently to Florida. He had a passion for life and will be missed by all who loved him. Frank is survived by his beloved long-time companion, Genevieve "Gen" Masi of Bridgeport; one step-son, Anthony L. Sandri of Bridgeport; one step-daughter, Gina L. Sandri of Portchester, NY; one brother, Robert J. Spezzano of Denmark; three sisters, Barbara J. Granzen of Waterbury, Susie M. Spezzano of Bridgeport and Mary K. Shorey of Salemburg, NC; six step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews and close friend and employer, Tracey A. Scalzi of Norwalk. Frank's family will receive friends on Monday, January 11, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. His funeral will be held in the parlor at the conclusion of calling hours, 7:00PM with the clergy of St. Matthew R.C. Church of Norwalk officiating. Interment will be held privately in St. John Cemetery, Darien at the convenience of the family.
