ORLANDO, FLORIDA Francoise Jean-Marie of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 in Florida, after being stricken ill. She was 74. Her husband, Mahot Jean-Marie predeceased her. Born in Haiti on March 28, 1935, Francoise was the daughter of Julie (Alexis) Laguerre and the late Vitel Laguerre. She attended local schools. Francoise enjoyed surrounding herself amongst her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She was caring and supportive to all and will be missed. She is survived by two sons, Giraud Jean-Marie of PA and Jose Jean-Marie of NJ; one daughter, Patrice Peters of FL; three brothers, Joel Laguerre and Michele Laguerre, both of Norwalk and Vilere Laguerre of Haiti; three sisters, Clausele Charlot of FL, Myrene Laguerre of Norwalk and Marie G. Laguerre of Stratford; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Francoise's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 19, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 5:00PM - 8:00PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 10:00AM in St. Joseph R.C. Church, 85 South Main Street, South Norwalk. Please arrive directly to the church in the morning. The Rev. G. Frantz Desruisseaux will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Haitian Relief Fund.
