Frances D. Jones

NORWALK, CONN Frances D. Jones of Norwalk passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Paradigm Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Norwalk, following an illness. She was three days shy of her 78th birthday. Her beloved husband Donald W. Jones of thirty years, passed away in 2004. Born in Bridgeport on May 14, 1932, Frances was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kubik) Gedrojc and graduated from Harding High School. She worked for GE for over twenty years and was a devoted wife and homemaker following her marriage to Donald. Frances was known to many as "Aunt Frances" and enjoyed music, and trips to the OX Ridge Hunt Club of Westport, to admire the many horses. As a cancer survivor, Frances' passion was to help others who were struggling with cancer and volunteered with several organizations within the area. She was a kind and gentle lady who will be missed by all. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including her niece and caretaker, Dona J. Ditrio of Norwalk and her nephew, Douglas Bongiovani of Florida. Not to be forgotten is her beloved kitty, "Jacquelina". Preceding in death were several brothers and sisters. Friends are invited to call at Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 2:00PM - 3:00PM. Her funeral and interment will be held privately.
