Filippo (Phil) Giglio, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on November 20 th , 2021. He was 95 years old. Phillip was born on May 2, 1926, in Marsala, Sicily Italy and was the son of the late Anthony and Giacoma Giglio.
In addition to his wife Josephine of 62 years, Filippo is survived by sons Anthony (Lydia), Salvatore (Justine), John (Susan), Leonard (Christine), 8 grandchildren: Michael, Madalynn, Christopher, Brianna, Brandon, Emily, Mathew, Jeffrey and 3 step grandchildren: Justin and Ashely Terrasi, Nicholas and Kaitlyn Terrasi and Matthew Terrasi and 1 great grandchild: Delaney Jane. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews. He was deeply appreciative of his immediate and extended family and greatly enjoyed spending time with them.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and exemplary tailor. He enjoyed Sunday dinners filled with laughter and joy by all that were welcomed and countless hours spent hemming the perfect attire. He was loved by all who knew him as a man of honor and an exquisite gentleman.
Filippo is predeceased by brother Stephano and sisters Angelina and Antoinette Giglio, He is survived by brother Onofrio Giglio (Norwalk) and sister Franca Recine (Florida).
The family would like to sincerely thank Mavis Mcanuff for her compassionate caretaking for the past nine months.
Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11/24/21 at 11am at St. Jerome Church, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Norwalk.
